The Extrameridian DU begins at the Hui Yin, the point at the perineum between the anus and genitals, goes through the inside of the spine to penetrate the brain and descends to the upper gum frenulum.
The DU channel is called „the governor” because it acts as a viceroy, delegated to inspect and correctly guide the body on behalf of the spirit.
The DU channel has the same kind of relationship with the brain that meridians have with their corresponding organs, they are interrelated.
DU is the great channel that governs all yang channels. It connects the brain and kidneys and its physiology is represented by the brain, spine and reproductive system.
